Cylinder Inspection System

Dapco Industries, Inc. offers turn-key cylinder inspection systems comprised of ultrasonic instrumentation, mechanics and PLC controls. This system has been developed over the past six years in North America as well as worldwide. It is able to stand alone or it can be integrated into a client’s production line.  

These systems are available in multiple configurations to meet and/or exceed applicable US DOT standards, BS5430, BS5045 and EN standards.  All mechanical functions and parameters are under PLC control. Cycle test times below 50 seconds are achievable for cylinders 9 inches in diameter by 50 inches long.  

All of the software is Windows based and Y2K compliant running on a Windows NT platform.  In addition, test data can be interfaced directly into a client’s data base computer. Some of the system’s advanced features include: auto calibration mode, auto verification of calibration mode, interactive cycle controls, and nine levels of security access. The system reliability has exhibited production availability in excess of 98% of the time.

Dapco Industries, Inc.’s cylinder inspection system, used for the certification of high-pressure cylinders, is easily adaptable to various diameter, lengths and shapes. It can be utilized for NDT of other canister type materials such as military shells and tubing products. A single scanning ultrasonic wheel containing a full complement of multidirectional transducers provides a comprehensive and detailed flaw analysis of the product under testing.
