The RTS-300 system represents the third-generation of Dapco's state-of-the-art, high-speed, real-time ultrasonic NDT systems.  Since the first RTS-300 system was installed in 1985, continued research and development has yielded vast improvements in detectability, repeatability, reliability and ease of operation.  Systems utilizing the RTS-300 technology have been installed world-wide in various pipe and rail inspection applications.  Systems have been installed in both in-line and off-line positions.

RTS-300 systems are designed to test in real-time, at production rates.  A test report is generated for each piece tested.  This report provides a "map" of the test piece which indicates where any defects are located, and it includes a summary list of the defects with data detailing the type of defect and it's location, along with other data designed to aid in the prove-up process.  Defects are also marked on the test piece via a paint-spraying system.

The RTS-300 system is designed to be very user-friendly, with most of the system functions selectable via a touch-sensitive input screen or an alphanumeric keyboard.  Once the system has been setup, operation is semi-automatic with little or no operator intervention required.
